DEPARTMENTS
There are three (3) departments, each headed by a Director.

RESEARCH, MONITORING AND EVALUATION

This Department is headed by a Director and is responsible for the conduct or promotion of research into social problems that have direct bearing on road safety. Specifically, the Department is responsible for the achievement of the following :

• Intiate road safety policy interventions for consideration by the Commission and the sector Minister.
• Monitors and evaluates the National Road Safety A
ction Plans implemented by Key Stakeholders.
• Develop key performance indicators for assessing the quality and quantity of road safety interventions.
• Coordinate the update of National Road Accident Statistics outsourced to the Building and Road Research Institute (BRRI).
• Plan, monitor and coordinate research programmes of the commission..
• Monitor and coordinate regional road safety activities.
• Prepare quarterly and annual performance reports of the commission.
• Responsible for the development of NRSC Website.
• Liaise with BRRI and Ghana Standards Board to certify of road safety equipment as contained in Act 567.

PLANNING AND PROGRAMMES
This Department is headed by a Director. It is responsible for the planning and implementation of road safety educational programmes and activitites in Ghana. The Department specifically responsible for the following:

• Plan and coordinate annual National and regional work plans, programmes and activities.
• Plan and develop creative and innovative road user educational programmes targeted at various road user groups in electronic, print and outreach activities.
• Coordinate and monitor road safety programmes and activities undertaken by road safety related NGOs.
• Liase with Ghana Education Service in a planning and development of road traffic education for parents, teachers and school children.
• Produce marketable proposals to local and international partners to support activities of the NRSC.
• Coordinate and monitor outsourced road safety education and training programmes.
• Prepare Terms of Reference (TOR) for outsourcing road user education and information programmes and activities.

FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION
This Department is headed by a Director. This Department is in charge of the finances and day to day administration of the Commission. Specifically the department is responsible for the following

i) Advises the Executive Director on all financial matters
ii) Collate and prepare the annual budget in accordance with directives from the NRSC, Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and Ministry of Transportation
iii) Prepare monthly financial reports
iv) Design and maintain monitoring and evaluation systems for procurement of goods and services
v) Responsible for security and transport services to ensure maximum and effiecient utilization of resource
vi) Deal with the preparation of schemes of service, staff performance appraisal, decipline and productivity improvements
vii) Implement policies of the Commission with respect to human resource development and management
viii) Facilitate the effective functioning of administration of the National Headquaters and Regional offices
ix) Ensure that the commission discharges it's statutory responsibilities with regards to statutory returns, payment of social security etc.
