DEPARTMENTS
RESEARCH, STATISTICS, MONITORING AND EVALUATION
The Department is headed by a Director
and is responsible for the conduct or promotion of research into social problems
that have direct bearing on road safety. Specifically, the Department is responsible
for the achievement of the following :
• Plan, monitor and coordinate research programmes of the Commission
• Coordinates the update of national road accident statistics outsourced to the BRRI.
• Initiate road safety policy interventions for consideration by the commission and the Sector Minister.
• Monitor and evaluate the National Road Safety Strategies and Action Plans implemented by key stakeholders.
• Develop performance indicators for assessing the quality and quantity of road safety interventions
Develop appropriate tools to assess the impact and effectiveness of road safety interventions.
• Monitor and coordinate regional road safety activities.
• Prepare quarterly and annual performance reports of the commission.
• Responsible for the development of NRSC Website.
• Liaise with BRRI and Ghana Standards Board to certify of road safety equipment as contained in Act 567.
PLANNING, EDUCATION AND INFORMATION
This Department is headed by a Director.
It is responsible for the planning and implementation of road safety educational
programmes and activitites in Ghana. The Department performs this function
in collaboration with major stakeholders. The Department specifically does
the following:
FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION
This Department is headed by a Director.
This Department is in charge of the finances and day to day administration
of the Commission. Specifically the department is responsible for the following
i) Management of the funds of the Commission
ii) Preparation of Annual Budget Estimates and Workplan of the Commission
iii) Management of assets of the Commission
iv) Keeping proper books of financial accounts and records
